Great Fire of London -Evacuation DOWNLOADABLE

The people escape the fire in this lesson which considers the London characters and the jobs they did. As the fire spread there was a mass exodus from the City and the students will study the chaos and panic that this caused. They will take on a character role and enact their departure as that character.

This lesson certainly challenges the idea of Responsible Citizen as the looting begins and bribery and corruption are rife amid the confusion.
Key Drama skills are group work, characterisation, role-play, improvisation, news reporting, tableau.
