In this lesson the class become Pirates challenged with producing a design for their Captain's ship.
With minimal measuring tools they will be working in groups to draw up a floor plan to show the Captain.
They will then be given a budget to furnish the rooms and will have to choose items from a list of furniture/appliances etc
This problem-solving lesson aims to teach students the order in which they would go about a task like this allowing them to make mistakes, start over and to think about how best to work together as a team and listen to each other.
The continuous self-assessment is set out so that the students reflect on their behavioural approach to the topic.
The project can be expanded into further improvisation and artwork, drawing the ideas and calculations.
Suitable For A Classroom.
