Genre Hop is a great lesson for improving reading and presenting in a fun (often hilarious) way.
Taking a text such as a recipe and presenting it in an unusual genre such as Horror is very funny but also challenging and can be highly creative.
The lesson begins in a practical way, working in groups to create simple scenes and apply genres and then moves into reading texts and putting the genre on their presentation.
Finally the students will be able to write their own texts/reports/scripts for each other to work with and the fun begins when the genres are then applied.
This lesson comes with full organisational details and now has 11 different text extracts to work with (3 levels of reading ability texts).
The lessons can easily be done in a classroom setting.
